The Harbin Arbitration Commission (abbreviated as HRBAC), established by the Harbin Municipal People's Government in August 1996 under the Arbitration Law of the People's Republic of China, is the only commercial arbitration institution in the Harbin region. It primarily handles domestic and international civil and commercial disputes between equal natural persons, legal entities, and other organizations to protect parties' legitimate rights and interests HRBAC now invites applications for the recruitment of arbitrators for its Sixth Term, with details as follows:

I. Scope and Term of Recruitment

This recruitment is open to applicants worldwide. Eligible candidates may apply. Arbitrators will serve a five-year term, coinciding with the Sixth HRBAC's tenure.

II. Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

Be in good health, dedicated to arbitration, impartial, and comply with the HRBAC Arbitrator Management Measures and HRBAC Arbitrator Code of Conduct.

Be under 65 years old (exceptions may apply for those with extensive experience and high industry reputation).

Meet at least one of the following requirements:

(1) Hold a National Unified Legal Professional Qualification and have 8+ years of arbitration experience.

(2) Have 8+ years of legal practice as a lawyer.

(3) Have served as a judge for 8+ years.

(4)Hold a senior academic/professional title in legal research or education.

(5) Possess legal expertise and a senior title/equivalent qualification in economics, trade, or related fields.

Adjustments to criteria may apply for outstanding overseas legal experts based on their regional context.

III. Application Process

Application Submission: Complete the HRBAC Sixth Term Arbitrator Application Form and email it to hrbac1996@163.com.

Review: Qualified applicants will be shortlisted.

Appointment: Finalists, after approval by the Sixth HRBAC Committee and training, will receive an appointment letter and be publicly announced.

IV. Important Notes

All applicants, including those seeking reappointment after the Fifth Term, must submit a new application.

The final list of arbitrators will be published on HRBAC’s official website and WeChat public account.

Applicants who applied in 2023 or later need not reapply.

V. Application Period

From May 29, 2025, to June 30, 2025.
