2017年度报告

Permanent Court of Arbitration publishes 2017 Annual Report

The Permanent Court of Arbitration is pleased to announce the publication of its 2017 Annual Report in hard copy and in PDF format available here.

The Annual Report illustrates the PCA’s continued expansion throughout 2017 and describes the key activities undertaken by the PCA and its staff during the 2017 calendar year.

In the course of 2017, the PCA’s International Bureau provided registry services in respect of 160 cases, 12 more than in the year before. This is a new record in the institution’s activity. The cases administered in 2017 included 8 interstate disputes, 97 investor-State arbitrations, and 55 cases arising under contracts involving a State or other public entity or public interest. Additionally, the PCA Secretary-General received 47 requests in 2017 relating to the appointing authority mechanism under the 1976 and 2010 United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (“UNCITRAL”) Arbitration Rules.

2017 also saw the PCA continue its engagement with the international community to increase cooperation and improve access to its services and expertise. To expand the PCA’s ability to conduct proceedings outside its headquarters in The Hague, the PCA concluded new Host Country Agreements with Brazil, Djibouti, Malaysia, Portugal and Singapore, as well as new Cooperation Agreements with the Association for the Promotion of Arbitration in Africa, the Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration, the Istanbul Arbitration Centre, the Mumbai Centre for International Arbitration, the Nairobi Centre for International Arbitration,the Qatar International Center for Conciliation and Arbitration, the Tehran Regional Arbitration Centre, and the Thailand Arbitration Center. The Hos tCountry Agreement with Singapore has enabled the PCA to open an office in that country as of January 2018.
